Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 finally saw the light of day and with it, a small revolution of the smartphones has been presented. The beautiful and frameless Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 is now available on the market. This is the second generation of the company's Mi Mix smartphone, the main feature of which is the so-called bezel-less design.
Last year, Xiaomi identified new levels of design with the Mi Mix smartphone. Mi Mix 2 follows the example of its predecessor and sets a new standard. Xiaomi announced the Mi Mix 2 together with Mi Note 3 and the new Mi Notebook Pro laptop on September 11, at the event in Beijing.
The Mi Mix 2 is presented quite differently in relation to its Mi Mix predecessor, especially in the field of design, specification and up to the price. For example, while Mi Mix is taller and wider, its Mi Mix 2 successor is shorter and narrower. The best way to make this difference is to figure out the numbers. Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 is 151.8 millimeters tall and 75.5 millimeters wide, while its Mi Mix predecessor from 2016 measures 158.8 millimeters in height and 81.9 millimeters in width. A sensitive difference in dimensions, don’t you think?
As far as design and material of manufacture are concerned, there are some similarities, but also differences. The Xiaomi Mi Mix 2, just like its predecessor, comes with a ceramic rear panel, while the entire device is suited in a four-piece, unibody-shaped casing, enclosed by an aluminum frame that ensures a better holding of this smartphone in your hand.
There have also been some improvements in the audio area that also affected the design of the new smartphone. The smartphone still uses an ultrasonic proximity sensor and a piezoelectric ceramic audio system, meaning that you clearly hear the caller's voice when placing your ear to the screen.
Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 comes with a 5.99-inch AMOLED 18: 9 FHD screen with 2,160 x 1,080P resolution. The body and screen ratio is as much as 90%, and the width of the lower side of the frame around the screen, is reduced by 12% compared to the Mi Mix. In terms of hardware specifications, the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 comes in four different memory versions that rely on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor with Adreno 540 graphics.
So, users have the offer of the first version with 6 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal memory, followed by the second version with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal memory. The third version is offered with 6 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal memory, and the last and special version with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal memory. Xiaomi Mi Mix 2, unlike other popular smartphones introduced recently, does not come with a double rear camera.
With this beautifully designed smartphone, the main Sony IMX386 camera with 12 MP sensor is responsible for good photography, which we can find as the primary camera on the company's flagship Mi 6. This camera comes with a pixel size of 1.25μm and a f/2.0 aperture and with optical image stabilization in four axes. To the right of the camera, there is a dual LED flash, and a fingerprint sensor located below the camera. The front selfie camera has a 5 MP sensor, autofocus, and facial recognition support.
The result of the smaller screen of the Xiaomi Mix 2 smartphone is the smaller battery, which has dropped from 4,400 mAh to a capacity of 3,400 mAh but still comes with Quick Charge 3.0 Quick Charge support. Of the connectivity options, the emphasis is placed on Bluetooth 5.0, dual WiFi support and support for 43 networks, including 22 LTE networks.
The standard 3.5mm audio output is discarded and the operating system listed is Android Nougat with the MIUI 9 user interface.
The Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 will be for sale at $ 506 for the version including 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal memory; the 128GB version comes at a price of $ 552, while the 256GB version will be selling for $ 614.
There is also a special version of the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 that comes with a completely ceramic body in black or white, meaning that it will not even have a metal, aluminum frame like the other models. This special Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 comes with 8 GB of RAM and 128GB of internal memory and will be for sale starting from October at a price of $ 721.
